Supporting CDC’s Viral Vaccine Preventable Disease Branch (VVPDB) Network
SIS provides scientific, epidemiological, and public health expertise to the Viral Vaccine Preventable Disease Branch (VVPDB) Network of Global Specialized Laboratories. We conduct reference and referral testing, management and curation of global sequence databases, laboratory training, provision of standard reagents and kits, administration of quality control programs, and provide technical consultations to the laboratories.
We also engage in analytic projects to address key epidemiological questions for certain diseases; facilitate implementation and maintenance of a quality management plan and adherence to applicable guidelines and requirements; and ensure laboratory quality management requirements, such as standard operating procedures (SOPs) are in place, maintained, and meet appropriate requirements.
