Enhancing Communication for COMEC
SIS provides communication support for NCHS’s Collaborating Office for Medical Examiners and Coroners (COMEC) in the Division of Vital Statistics (DVS). This includes assisting with the development of outreach and communication strategies for COMEC and its key stakeholders, providing support for medicolegal death investigations (MDI) workgroups, data standardization, development and management of a website to house standardized COMEC data, and data visualization for MDI state profiles that curates data into a form that is easier to understand and highlights trends and outliers.
