Technical Support for Data Standards and Harmonization for CDC's CSELS
SIS provided technical support for standards management and data harmonization that incorporated existing and new standards developed by the Interoperability Standards Advisory, Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. These national data and technical standards, tools, and data models will be used by CDC programs and partners to send/transfer data throughout the different government agencies.
Our team helped to:
- Develop a plan to identify the number and type of clinical care stakeholders and state and territorial health agencies to involve in the project
- Implemented a needs assessment to define data system gaps and information sharing needs in CDC agencies and partners
- Developed guidance and standards for data management and sharing
- Helped facilitate processes and modernization of existing data systems to facilitate data harmonization
- Determined a common operating picture for data exchange with agencies via continuous information exchange.
This included providing technical support to CDC partners to support data harmonization and developing knowledge artifacts and technical documents.
